If it would help, I could probably ferry some luggage back as far as Worcester for later exchange (I notice your signature refers to Somerset'. I plan on towing a trailer, and should have some spare capacity for the return journey after eating all the food and drinking all the beer.

Its a pity hat BMW Motorrad could not have loaned you a bike, I would make sure that they do not think that they have a blank cheque to repair the bike.
The weather is supposed to get better towards the weekend, lets face it, could not get much worse.
