Camping Weekend Glen coe 18th - 19th Aug 2012

Post by LargeWayRound »

Due to work reasons , I can not make the ABR Midlands Rally this year. :S

So Instead , I was thinking of planning a alternative camping weekend closer to home.

So the venue will be :

18th - 19th Aug 2012
Red Squirrel Campsite , Glencoe

Planning on being at the campsite on friday 17th , late afternoon..
On the saturday after breakfast etc , I propose a run up the kinlochleven loop then on the big loop past Oban , then a single track to ford , up loch awe to the Leacainn Forest Drive (12.5 miles) SFC Website of forest here

Then back to the campsite , via A / B roads .

Should be a most of the day ride out , bring lunch in case we can't find a cafe.

Google route map HERE

Anyone interested

P.S. This is a weather dependent event ..

Dam, i'll be on the ferry for home after 2 weeks in Austria/ Germany. I love the red squirrel campsite, don't camp near the river no matter how inviting it is, midge hunting ground. The pub at the end of the lane is a must if you like a real ale or two, not a bad selection of whiskey on the top shelf either.

Cheers Dave.

Silly me thats the weekend we leave so have to unmark the date. Hope it stays dry for you all.

I am going to note the date, its a nice easy run after work on a Saturday for us, also weather dependant dont want to be trying to dry the tent out at last minute as we leave for "anywhere dry" in Eruope the following weekend.
