August Bulgarian Rally.

Post by Redsoul »

Quite like the idea of this adventure...just wondering how demanding roads in Eastern Europe are as would be travelling on an xt1200z fully loaded with wife on the back.

Hi Redsoul, ur bike will be ideal for Eastern Europe, some of the smaller roads can be pretty bad (or fun, depending on ur outlook). Some of the major roads are fairly new and in better shape than in the UK.
Always watch out for pot holes ,which can be far worse than here and the cars coming towards u will swerve onto ur side of the road to avoid their pot holes.
Always Always be very wary around expensive black cars (usually with blacked out windows) they simply expect everyone else to avoid them.
Toured Eastern Europe 4 times and absolutely love it.

Chopper. See Crofty's post on page 5. He needs one more person to share a cabin on the 16th on the Hull Zeebruger crossing.

see you at the boil chopper, after a worked out fuel and time to folkestone or dover, ime best off going from hull as its near where i live, so i will save many hours of riding and mileage in the uk, and 2 x accommodation on the way there and way back mate,

looking forwards to meeting up at the boil

Watching this topic closely.

Would like to join on euro side and do the 7 or 8 day ride to the campsite, and see some sights along the way.

I'm about 95% positive that I will be doing this trip.

I had a quick look at the Newcastle ferry and its approx £184 for 1 x adult, and approx £223 for 2 x adults and 2 bikes ( £112 each) - that's one way excluding weekends - Was planning on coming back a different route.

If anyone is thinking about doing the trip and interested in sharing a cabin, give me a shout. Planning to set off fairly early though.
Are we there yet?
