For those of you head north this weekend

Post by Gas_Up_Lets_Go »

Chaps,

I've seen a few post considering the route north, and this is probably a little late for most, but for those taking the eastern side of Lock Lomond here is a nice little spot to visit.

On the B824, a couple of miles from the M9 Junction 9, is a memorial to a man many will not recognise, although everyone in the country will have heard of his teams exploits.

In my mind, the place has much more soul than the memorial at Spean Bridge. One of the few places you see the names of the fallen.

Worth a look, and a nice place to have a bite of lunch (but you;'ll need to take it with you!)

Oh, and don't forget Doune Castle, a few miles north - for the Pythonists among you....
