Re: Piel Trail Ride
Minky, can you definitely confirm nibthwaite is closed? My research leads me to believe its open. Only goes to the top where you photo is taken, and then you have to come back down. And there are no signs on the ground saying its closed. Infact, I'm sure there are signs stating its ok for off road use. It does state it goes to no where. It's a cracking ride up. Not easy though.

The trail at the South East corner of Coniston water, heading up the hill. Some large rock steps to bounce up.Mike54 wrote:Nibthwaite as in Parkamoor? AFAIK it's still open. I know one of the Rangers so can email him and check if you like
thanks Mike. Its on trailwise as still open, and there were no signs a month or 2 ago.

The Cumbria Hierarchy of Trail Routes website doesn't show any TRO

Forgot about those survey sheets. I do know about them having completed one for the Beach byway....which we will also be doing on either the Saturday (if time) or Sunday.

Re: Piel Trail Ride
Just got the reply back from the ranger, yes it's fine. Just to note though that it is a dead end and you need to turn around when you reach the turning point / viewing area (I know you know this Mike, it's for the benefit of others).
Apparently the Police are out and about a lot at the moment on lanes like that where some people have decided to not turn round and find another way out which as we know, you can't do.

No Mike, doing an enduro in wales on sat.
Just got another bit of info from the ranger
"Be aware that there could be works taking place on U5064 and U5213, there is no TRO at present, but a temporary one might be required in near future to undertake drainage works."
