Re: What would put you off buying a GS1200/1250?

. . . Then I settled on a GS 800 then a GSA800 . . . The F8GS is my choice of GS. I'm on my 4th one. Only onto number 4 cos I keep selling them, realising my mistake and getting another. You'd think I would have learned not to sell before now  Steve T 8-) I wish I'd not sold my GSA800......I ...

Re: What would put you off buying a GS1200/1250?

PS: Never been to Starbucks on it ;) So, not a REAL GS12 owner then :D ;) :D Good write up comparing some really capable bikes. I've ridden most models of the GS that I fit on (the GSA'a are way too tall for me) from the 1100s to the last of the air/oil cooled bikes. Just don't get them personally....

Re: What would put you off buying a GS1200/1250?

I choose the GS800 for long trips where I know I'm going off Tarmac. It's a brilliant compromise for Motorway/trail/fast Tarmac. Great economy, comfort and range.....and not too heavy for me. But.....I love the big GS's torque and shove out of the bends, I really like the handling as well. As a fun ...

Re: What would put you off buying a GS1200/1250?

Too big, too heavy, too expensive, too tall, too complex, too ostentatious, too much plastic. I know they are good bikes, but I just don't like them. I like cheap, simple, light enough to lift on my own, feet flat on the floor when I stop, not having to get it serviced at a dealer, no plastic, and ...

Re: How to coach motorcycle riding :)

Me too. I hate ruts. I guess it's confidence. I get better at riding them the more I do. The deep rutted logging tracks in Bulgarian woods are epic.....but I've not been there for a couple years so I'd be useless right now. I'm a rut riding God after a couple of weeks! But it's a art I quickly forge...
