Personally I do nod, most of the time, but I don't worry about it being returned and I couldn't tell you which bike brands or types are more or less likely to nod back. The continental, casual left hand wave seems much cooler, particularly when the rider is flying around an alpine bend with his knee...

I'm around 6'4" and my 955 Tiger has more room for me than most road bikes. My first bike was a TS185 and I've liked the trail bike riding position ever since. The fact that its very versatile is a real bonus. The fact that its a fashionable class of bike is a positive, but it didnt really play...

If I could afford it I would get new every time. It a depends on how big a hit the price is for you (and your family). You seem to be a guy who uses their bike enough to justify the cost. Happy hunting which ever route you decide on

Yes its totally outrageous, illegal and dangerous, but in the early eighties most young lads tried to ride like that, me and my mates included. That was the whole point of bikes. They didn't let us in a lot of pubs or restaurants and generally looked down on us so why should we be worried about upse...
