Re: Non-EC or Non-cat UK exhausts and riding in the EU
Get the Cat part Or get an E-Marked Akrapovic system which is a similar price and probably same or better quality (I have that system on my XSR700 and it sounds decent enough with the baffle in, not tried without but suspect it's not much worse).

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I really enjoy this tread as it just goes to show what the small capacity machines have to offer. I currently ride an XSR700 but tuck it up for winter so am considering getting a smaller capacity bike for adventures around the Moors and Dales, on minor roads rather than true offroad. I have been loo...

Re: What’s happened to all the cheap bikes
Brilliant photo of the C90, one of the best I have seen on here and there is a lot of competition, thanks for posting.

Re: viewranger
Not used Viewranger but I use the Ordnance Survey subscription maps about £25 per year and all the maps for full UK available, have a quick look and a free trial on their website if you haven't already tried. I use them for walking but they can be used for cycling etc so suspect OK for all offroad a...

Re: Lomo 13 litre Adventure panniers
I have a set on my XSR700, they seem decent quality for the money and stay nice and secure but would be a faff to take off and on regularly. I think the back is more durable but they are fairly robust all round so unless off around the world of you crash a lot you would be ok, also my spare fuel con...

Re: Guilty Pleasures
I had an XT500 that was in great shape, the "look" is better than the riding experience. I found mine easy enough to kick start as long as you didn't faff around, just ease the piston into position then give it some welly with a well protected kick. The motor has plenty of vibey grunt and ...

Re: Off-roaders on the beaches
To start with I though the 2 Whitby bound bikers deserved what they got but the more I think about it I thought it was harsh. On a daily basis I see hundreds of people taking greater risks and potentially causing more hassle. Groups of cyclists hiding behind the exercise excuse but probably out for ...

Re: Yamaha Tracer 700 - advice
I have the XSR700, same engine, and thoroughly recommend it. Suspension is a bit budget but other than that it is a superb package, the engine is a peach and been around a while without any major issues. The only decent alternative for similar money would be the Kawasaki Versys, my previous bike and...
