Re: Manchester arena bomb

In years gone by I'd have thumped a table and had a stake in a particular version of a desired outcome. What I am all too aware of these days is that whatever I think on the matter of combatting terrorism is probably wrong or pointless. I can't help but feel that any course of action will fail its ...

Re: Manchester arena bomb

There lies the problem Ralph at what level do you respond? Before we become the very countries we complain about People get the country they deserve. If the majority of the public are happy with the level, it falls within the law of the land, and falls within international law, then crack on. As so...

Re: Manchester arena bomb

I am a liberal type, some of the right wing stuff on the Brexit thread made me cringe, but it can go too far, when you don't enforce the law because you are scared of being branded racist. If we get many more attacks like this (this is the first one that's actually made a tear run down my face, due ...

Re: Manchester arena bomb

The carrying out of terrorist attacks is where the similarities between Daesh and the IRA come to an end. Daesh aren't even remotely similar to Al Queda, even though that's partly where they come from. Daesh do not fight for any political cause, they act upon an extreme religious ideology, and polit...

Re: Manchester arena bomb

I was listening to Radio 4 on the way home the other night and they were talking to someone about putting surveillance on all of the known radicals on watch lists: there are currently around 1,000 people on these lists... So, in order to cover every last one of them, they would need around-the-cloc...

Re: Manchester arena bomb

I have just found out my niece's best friend didn't make it out of Manchester alive. I have just spoken to a mate who's daughter is still on the missing list. The good people of Manchester who acted brilliantly in a myriad of ways from first responders to the guys handing free pizza's out will all ...

Re: Manchester arena bomb

"You have to understand that from the point of view of the perpetrator, his or her actions were totally justified. Untill we can remove the justification for these acts...." I have to understand? So you seem to understand it then. Specifically in the view of Al-Baghdadi and Daesh, please t...
