Re: pyrenees OS map?

For the Pyrenees, I always use the Topo Pirineos, it's a free software and works with the Garmin BaseCamp. I use it both for walking and riding in the Pyrenees region. I use it with a Garmin 60CSx. It's very detailed with all the footpaths, trails, roads and features marked. You can create your own ...

Re: My first ride abroad. All for the book.

That's a fair distance in 3 days, take care if you cross the Pyrenees, we have plenty of snow above 1000m. The tunnels are open, but pass with care. Some great roads in the Xalon Valley, especially around Castell de Castells. Have a great ride and take care, as you can get snow in a few places on yo...

A friend rode Portugal South to North, mainly using off-road trails on his Yamaha Ténéré. Looked a great trip, have a look at his trip report and photographs. http://www.oldmanthatcansee.com/?page_id=876 Think I may do it one day, have ridden in Portugal, it's a great country with fantastic roads an...

Re: Aragón HISS 2015: the ‘Official’ Ride Report

If you want a nice scenic ride through the Ordesa Vally / Park, there is a great route from the A-138 (Bielsa / Ainsa) road, take the HU-631 at Escalona, towards the Ordessa Park Natural. If you follow this road, it skirts the Ordessa Valley with some fantastic views. You can by taking a small road ...

Re: To old to learn off road ?

Agree with the others, you are never too old, I have done 2 trips to Morocco first one on a 1200GS in 2013 and the next on a 650 GS Dakar in 2014, great fun with a good bunch of riders, all many years younger than me. Bus pass this year, and booked for the HISS Aragón in May. Just do it and keep fit...
