I've never had any trouble finding a campsite anywhere in France theres loads, even Calais has one right on the front, As your going to Cherbourg, maybe call in at Mont-san-Michel the campsite there is excellent, local restaurant,store etc as well.

Always have always will sevice my own bikes, Got robbed over an mot once, I was on shift and needed the bike ready for a jaunt to europe, so let them fix it , no names but never again, self servicing of bikes is what m&p, busters, haynes etc, were created for, Us home mechanics .

The Camping Municipal in Arromanches is cheap , But it's on a slope and if it rains the lower pitches to the left and near the tennis courts and RV overnite park get waterloged/flooded.
