Re: Camel Tanks and Others...

Would a pair of 2L alloy tanks be of any interest? £45 each or £100 the pair. Available here: https://adventurebikerider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=48464 I don't understand the pricing strategy either, but they look very pretty. Two litres (even twice) isn't going to be enough on this trip....

Re: BANG !

My father was an army bomb disposal officer in the 1950s and early 60s. At that time, most of his workload was making safe WW2 relics. One of his stories was about the journey back to base after a job. Trundling along in their Land Rover, he and his assistant passed a petrol station and noticed a ca...

Re: mot and sprayed screens?

Has anyone ever had an MOT failure because of a scuffed up or opaque screen? I have had a few screens deteriorate quite badly over time, mainly because of sun light damage, but no MOT tester has ever made any comment about it. It has never caused me any trouble in normal riding. If I were considerin...

Re: Bike transport service

I worked for these at one stage. http://www.sos-motorcycle-recovery.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=104&Itemid=62 I have been recovered by this company (via the RAC) a couple of times, in 1997 and again around 2010. Was very happy with the treatment of my bike on both...

Re: Malvern hills rally 2019

I was only there for a bit of it, but thoroughly enjoyed that bit. So, many thanks to Devon John, the pub management and the other participants. I went to visit my brother in Hereford afterwards, and at that point my final drive dumped its oil all over the road, so I got home courtesy of the RAC. I ...

Re: Heated Grips

Hedgehopper: " just read the manual, 8mm hole needed, not too sure about that" Garryboy: "I wonder if 2 x 4mm holes would do as 8mm gotta weaken the bars?" From section 2B of the installation instructions: "Alternatively, drill a 3 – 5 mm hole on each side of the handlebar u...

Re: Kriega Bags

Hi Mike The pictures are fine. I can see all the straps I expected, plus there are some I don't recognise. Bonus straps can't be a bad thing. So, I will take them, please. How much will post to Norfolk be? Alternatively, i could collect if you are close to Norfolk, or I will be going to the Malvern ...

Re: Sidecar recommendations for GS

Hi Jim I tried to send you a PM a couple of weeks ago, but it seems that it never got sent - I just found it in my Outbox. I can't see a way to release it, so here it is: Hi Jim I saw your post earlier this evening, before I saw this PM, and I have already responded in the thread. My sidecar is moun...

Re: Kriega Bags

Hi Gooner I have tried to send you a PM (twice), but they seem to have got stuck in my Outbox, and I can't see any way to release them. There is also another PM in there which I tried to send to someone else about 2 weeks ago. Having thought about it a bit, I don't think that I need the shoulder str...
