Re: what have you done to your bike today??

Have you done the 'Kev' mod, which I believe gives smoother running at low revs by richening the fuel mixture? I haven't, but would be interested to hear from anyone who has. I do find the low rev running a bit lumpy, but I guess I've got used to it over the 10 yrs I've had my Ten. Yes Mark, I adde...

Re: what have you done to your bike today??

Finished the back end rebuild on Idris ready for the ABR Ireland event next week. Aside from the usual servicing, its had new GPR exhausts, wheel bearings and seals, new USB power source, coolant flush, thermometer, a new bar bag and hyperpro rear shock - which was kindly set up for me at the factor...

Re: ABR Ireland Weekend 2023 - Sign Up Thread

Out of curiosity what are your plans after you come off the ferry on morning of 17th? Arrival time listed as 9:30, likely to be out of the port for 10-10:30am. I decided not to head to France until September and am just getting another bike back on the road. Work on 17th has freed me up so I am giv...

Re: ABR Ireland Weekend 2023 - Sign Up Thread

Sounds like you are on Armourique into Cork on the Wednesday morning. I am not sure of my holiday movements yet but I usually go to France in May but not booked this year yet as I had to wait for the date for my sons conferring. If I go I am likely to be on that ferry, if not might grab you for a c...

Re: ABR Ireland Weekend 2023 - Sign Up Thread

Cheers Flinty - looks like I´ll be doing some of that route on my way there (riding up through France as I haven´t done that for a while - then ferry into Cork - but the timings give me a few days to play with). Its been a while since I racked up over 1,000 miles heading somewhere. Plenty to do and ...

Re: ABR rally ireland 2023

Hmmm My head says "... there is already a lot going on in May, family events, work committments, need to paint the living room..." My heart says "... go-on, go-on, go-on, go-on... go-on..." Wonder which will win through! :D Pat PS - Oh, and for those who've not been, its a very g...

Re: South America Advice Wanted

I agree, Columbia is amazing. I loved the mountains in Equador too. I was in Argentina / Chile in March and April and it was uncomfortably cold by the end of that (riding with heated grips and jacket) until I got to around Esquel heading north - that Patagonian wind just eats through your gear, righ...

Well that´s good news, cheers Flinty. Almost an excuse to do it again next year... :D

Re: Ferry to Spain - an alternative option for those in the North

Cheers Alan. I did that route up in May on my roundabout way to the ABR Ireland bash. Can't say I was that impressed with the boat we had, its a bit basic with limited facilities when compared with others in the fleet (like Pont Avon), but if you take lots of books / downloads on a tablet (plus snac...
