Re: I told my missus i was looking for gloves :-)

I'd just put it in the garage and say nothing. In a months time she'll say "I thought your bike was black" or whatever. Just say you've put stickers on it :)

Re: Big Bike Rally Challenge

mefo mx master is really good, but to be perfectly honest when it's so muddy on a heavy bike I suspect anything will be a struggle really..maybe try 20 psi first? you could do worse than have a chat to gwyn at treleborg tyres. he runs an HP2 and My 630 is shod with tyres from him (mitas ef07) and t...

Since this is my back garden I probably ought to join you but you always pick the dates of the rallies ;). So I can't. Could give you some routes though, haven't checked them all, but you can let me know what they're like.

Re: Tire repair CO2 cylinders...

Yep, I use them, beats carrying a compressor. Normally I carry a small bike pump just for finding holes in the tube to avoid wasting a cylinder.

Re: Advice needed for China

Unless things have changed recently I believe you must have a guide, and I think you have to register the bike in china too. When I last looked at it, it looked like more trouble than it was worth.

Don't want to put you off trying though.

Re: HD inner tubes

The 4.50 is the width in inches. I'm running 130 tyres on a 4.5" rim so would have thought 4.5" tube should be ok.

Re: HD inner tubes

The lowest psi I'll dare run even with UHD tubes is about 20-21 in the front with 17-20 in the rear. The rear isn't so bad but I have no rim locks at present so don't want to risk ripping the valve out. If you're going be more brutal, then time for some mouses (spelling?)
