Re: Looks like the CCM may live again!

Mmnn spagetti! I am seriously considering starting from scratch and making a new loom for mine sooner rather than later. Half the wiring is now redundant, not a problem if it works but a nightmare when it does not. I think having a trellis frame might mean I can get the old loom out (unlike sports b...

Re: Looks like the CCM may live again!

Can't see the pics but glad you found the issue, surprised it ran. Mine broke down on me on the M1! After about an hour of swearing and some incorrect diagnosis I finally found a broken earthing tag and some hard shoulder bodging got me home! Whoever makes KTMs looms deserves to be shot, 5 wires int...

ktm 525 forks toooo hard

I had to change both the fork springs and shock spring on my 525 when I got it, was way too hard. As it's a light bike, I think spring rates are more important (I don't weigh much)
Google for spring rate calculators and work out what it should be for your weight.

Where would you leave your bike????

Full view chained to lamp post and use a decent un-croppable (16mm style) chain. Preferred way of working is to lift it in a van, and all the better if they are tucked out of sight when doing the deed.

Thermostats have been around for donkeys years, I believe that the arc used one on its water cooling system. Its only things like race bikes that don't run thermostats (because thermostats restrict flow)

Re: winter engine running temp

My understanding is that most bikes have a mechanical thermostat so the water will be kept warm around the engine and just not routed into the radiator. What you see on your clocks depends on where the sensor is. I can get all the way to work without getting my rad to 40degrees on the 525 (if the tr...
