I suspect that a large part of the reason we see interesting reports written about rides on small capacity or older bikes is that so many people are doing similar rides on big capacity modern bikes that nobody cares? It's easy for the likes of you and me who have wives that ride bikes, others have to deal with the consequences of an incompatible wife every day of their lives.

If I was looking for a bike around that capacity or slightly bigger I'd be booking a ride on a new 1090 KTM.

I've got by for years on the principle that it's much easier to seek forgiveness than permission.

She'll come to terms with it eventually whereas asking in advance might never get a positive response.
