Re: value for money ..this little bike is hard to beat
Mine (Yam WR250R) cost £2600 a year or so ago--but I've spent money on a GYTR silencer (keeps the heatshield), rear rack, IMS tank, and a rear shock revalve--so it mounts up ! Here's a pic with some luggage (but hides the nice side frames from the US). Whatever you buy it invariably results in a few...

Re: Why isn't the DRZ still imported to the UK
Thats also why they stopped selling the WR250R in the UK (I have one)--sales volumes are so low in the UK (but you can go and buy one in the US tomorrow). Updating to the latest emissions standards and homologation cost is a big reason, as also stated. There is a great new version of the kawa KLR 65...

Re: Yamaha WR125R engine managment light on... Help
If its the same as the WR250R then you should be able to use the dash buttons to throw up the fault code--and then you should be on the road to sorting it--but you'll need to get the manual to tell you how to run through the fault codes, and also to give you the fault description. Its a clever piece...

Re: 2015/16 Yam WR250F v KTM250EXC
There are some good used ones out there--I agree that its a difficult one bearing in mind the low cost of the Honda. The Yam actually comes with pillion rests so you can be confident of the subframe strength--and I've added some nice pannier loops(again from the US--but at least available). I've jus...

Re: 2015/16 Yam WR250F v KTM250EXC
The new WR250F is the trail/enduro version of the YZ250F (both now with the backwards engine). The WR250R was a totally different thing altogether and it sold in such poor numbers (here) it was discontinued. I disagree about the power, not so much the figure, that's kind of irrelevant its the lack ...

Re: 2015/16 Yam WR250F v KTM250EXC
The Yam WR250R (Trail version) was sold in the uk, but no more. However, its still sold in the US and is very popular. The reason is that its a purpose designed traily--good subframe, long service intervals, 70 mph on the road, proper 350W alternator, decent lights, on board diagnostics etc (no plug...
Re: Paris
There is a call in the media this morning, Sunday, from high profile public figures that the Muslim community needs to speak up and condemn this terrorist act. They say that the Muslim community hasn't been vocal enough in speaking out against it. Like that's going to happen.  . Iran...
Re: Paris
I hate to say it but we need to both put up the borders and also not get involved on the ground in the middle east etc.( a bit late for that I know!). The area is older than just about all of Europe, and very tribal--and they have been beating each other up for many centuries. Dictators, as much as ...

Re: rim locks...yes or no?
I've had the same problem with Maxxis on a 250. The sidewalls are so stiff that it makes no difference what pressure you run. I ran the front down to 5 psi and took it to my local offroad dealer and invited them to do a squeeze and "guess the pressure"--they couldn't believe that it was 5 ...

Re: rim locks...yes or no?
I've always fitted rimlocks for years--but recently got fed up trying to cruise at, say , 60 mph without both front and rear doing a roadhammer impersonation--and I've tried adding lots of weight to balance. Its on a 250 sized bike--and I've now removed them and also balanced them again--what a diff...
