I would just go. If travelling alone I wouldn't book in advance. Turn up at a place about half six onwards and haggle. You wont get hit with single occupancy supplements that way.
Also if the weather is shite you can change direction as and when.

stayed at hotel petry last year very nice place and good food too. some cracking roads around there. worth the trip if anyone was wondering.

used pension William last year very friendly and accommodating.B500 is a good road but overated if you ask me. I had more fun just taking random turn offs from B500 and exploring.
