Was this the new 890? Also are the pictures of the same bike? May just be the angles but looks like there are two different
front tyres on the bike in the pictures. Or did you get a new front fitted?

Re: Which Oxford hot-grips to choose ?
My personal opinion on Oxford grips after having 2 sets is that they are brilliant
as heated, but shit as grips. The main reason being that the grips are too hard.
This gives rise to much more vibration to your hands and quite uncomfortable
after hours of riding.

Re: Norway
Maybe not directly translateable, to motorbike travel, but how expensive is Scandinavia really?
Re: Norway
You can also now get a ferry from Eemshaven to Kristiansand. Saving a massive boring slog up to the tip of Denmark
for a ferry to Norway.

Re: Norway
Just thought I would update my status. If anyone is planning a trip to Norway, then just get in touch.
I live near Stavanger next to the sea. Have a spare room, garage and garden for the die hard campers.
Could even put the kettle on

Re: Husqvarna 701 luggage
Outback Motortech panniers, perun moto rear rack and extension plate.
Touratech bags.
This has worked well for me for 3 years now and recently on Norwegian TET for 6 days.
Has seen scrapes and falls but still functions and looks good.
Swapped the exhaust can for an aftermarket on my 2019 690.

Re: What's your advice regarding tank bags on long trips
Never used one, and not much space on a 690 to fit one. Prefer a rucksack anyway as I have one with waterbladder for drinking. Any suggestions for keeping the water cool? I’ve sometimes drunk from a camelback that feels like bath water. Not easy on a trip, but you can fill it up with bottled water ...

Re: Rukka clothing
I must admit to changing my mindset about clothing a few years ago. For 7 years I had a Halvorssons suit which was really good, except in hot weather. I would just melt... I then bought a Knox jacket that is AA rated and wear that all the the time. If it is cold I put a fleece on top, wet goretex ja...
