Pat and Ness Garrod talk at Beaulieu, Friday 6th December
Just found out about this talk at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu on 6th December: https://nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/bearback-the-world-overland/ It's by Drs Pat and Ness Garrod who rode an R100GS around the World 'two-up' and then another GS to circumnavigate Africa. They wrote about their a...

Re: Go Outdoors “Jet Boil” £30
Thanks for the tip off. Picked up one of the chairs on Saturday morning, an absolute bargain at that price. Seems to be pretty well made and take my weight (fifteen stone) without a problem.

Re: Motorent Adventure, Coyhaique, Chile
Apologies to anyone who tried to look at the Motorent Adventure website, my posting seemed to coincide with the website going down. It seems to be back up and working now.

Motorent Adventure, Coyhaique, Chile
Some of you may have seen my thread in the trip reports section about the incredible three weeks that my mate Rob and I spent riding in Patagonia in january this year. It's an amazing region, as I hope the images in that thread go a little way to showing. I really just wanted to post something on he...

Re: Biker with Ear Problem
I have a good friend who's suffered with tinitus, caused by biking, for years. Seeing how he's suffered, I won't ride without ear protection. I used to use the disposable foam type but now have a set of custom made ones with filters, also from Mercury. Had them done at Motorcycle Live at the NEC a c...

Re: South America, Blowing The Kids’ Inheritence
Really enjoyed seeing these latest images form your trip, spotting a few familiar places in Patagonia from our own trip in January. Completely agree with your comments about riding the Careterra Austral as well as Ruta 40. The contrast between the two is amazing and each is challenging. If anything ...

Re: Three weeks in Patagonia - January 2019
Thanks chaps. Yes, I know what you mean MotoCP. I once read in one of Chris Bonnington's mountaineering books about how he used to take what he called 'snatched opportunities' as a way of squeezing in adventures wherever he could. I have a mate who refers to 'little adventures'. If the time and circ...

Three weeks in Patagonia - January 2019
I've been trying to get round to posting a few words and pictures about my recent trip to Patagonia for ages, having made a few posts on gbags thread. With a few minutes free and the kids occupied I thought I'd put something up today. I was lucky enough to work and travel in South America for about ...
