On the Pont Aven down to Santander this year, they ferry crew used a heavy duty strap over the seat with a big plastic covered foam pillow, they tighten this strap a lot, so much that I had to stop the deck hand from continuing to ratchet it down when I thought my seat was going to give in under the...

Buy a couple of long cambuckle straps Cambuckles , cut at about 40cm away from the camlock and form a loop onto each cut end large enough to get your hand through, sew the cut ends of the loop back onto the strap with some strong thread similar to how the camlock is attached to the other end of the ...

Would an electric bike get around the Byways Closed to Vehicles rules? Could that be deemed to be a cycle and be used on bridleways?

Under load it works the other way and compresses the two parts together

If you look at the following youtube clip showing the rekluse install to the 690, at around 2:27 you can see the two inner parts of the clutch with angled ramps.
On overrun, this allows the outer part to ride up and release pressure on the plates.
