Re: Finance's on your travels
Another one with a Clarity card here. Recommended. I use whenever and wherever I can. A relatively small amount of cash then goes a long way.

Re: Avon launches new TrekRider motorcycle tyre.
A different view and opinion on the Trailriders.... I have had two sets on my 1200GSA and had punctures in the rears of both sets resulting in premature scrapping of both. Bad luck? coincidence? Possibly but the second tyre had at least 5 tiny holes in it when it was removed, so while I may have rid...

Re: Watch the motorway bridges
it will 20+ years ago but a mate of mine got a huge chunk of paving stone through his windscreen on the M62 near leeds. It landed in the passenger seat. It would have killed the passenger if he had had one. It is complete F***wits who do things like this.

Re: Thoughts on Honda 650 Transalp
One other thing on the 650..... Sprockets. Stick to honda oem for the front. It's a better fit on the splines of the output shaft so keeps wear to a minimum and has a rubber cushion to soften any harshness coming through the drive. My wife had a 700 TA for a year or so. Noticeably more grunt than th...

Re: Thoughts on Honda 650 Transalp
Thanks for the info, nice to know what to look out for. Out of interest what did you replace the transalp with? That's all that springs immediately to mind. Don't let that list put you off. Mine was great bike used all year for a 100mile daily commute and still going strong when I sold it (via this...

Re: Thoughts on Honda 650 Transalp
I did over 110,000 miles on one in 7 years. Mostly commuting but also took it to Morocco, and all round the UK. Great bike , very reliable, comfy, and once you get the hang of removing the fairing and panels easy enough to work on. Things look out for in my experience: Silencer will rot at the joint...

Re: Bug Reports
I can't see pictures on all threads. I don't what the difference, but for example I can the pics of Bob's DR350 for Sale and Nethen's greece RR. But in Simon's HISS report I don't see anything, except where its a Photobucket photo and see the usual photo bucket thing. Otherwise there's nothing and t...

Re: Campsite Peak District
ummm its in the middle of the Derbyshire peak district and its a field with a bog. The cafe and the campsite is popular with trail riders, but the campsite is busy if there's more than a few people on it. AFAIAC security consists of taking the keys out. I am sure there is a gate or part of a wall yo...
