Just been quoted £170 for both bikes fully comp from bikesure. I think that's very good and reduced insurance seems to be about the only positive thing about reaching 50.

If that's fully comp it doesn't sound too bad to me while last years Devitt's policy sounds suspiciously cheap. I have just been talking to Carole Nash £229 to renew on my TA650 and my Vara 1000. E Bike want £179 but not the same policy and no euro breakdown cover. Will be trying bikesure later.

I am going over to Piel Island tomorrow just to check all OK and arrangements not changed from last time. Will also call at the High Cross Inn to arrange the lunch stop. I might have a mosey down a couple of tracks to check out their viability as the ride out looks like being much smaller this year....

On the vara the abs felt just like it does in a car - vibration in the pedal and nothing but smooth continuous eye popping braking.

I have a Transalp without ABS and a Varadero with. Personally I would choose ABS coz when you need it it's a life saver. I have ridden bikes nearly all my life and still lock the back wheel in real emergencies. Why would you not want a real safety device and I don't subscribe to the view that things...

As it says I need another TT top case bracket so I can swap the case between bikes. Its to fit on a Transalp 650 but as they are easy enough to adapt a bracket from any bike will do.
