Re: BMW g650 x country??
I like the G650x series of bikes. Have several x challenges in various states of adventurisation, and a x country. X country is more scrambler in style, and only really suitable for tamer off road. They are understressed, economical and probably master of nothing. Have a fairly big following on advr...

Re: Outer Hebrides revisited
We tried cycling it in the summer. Aborted after 2 days of excessive headwind (22mph day 1, 48 the day after, though the ride back was v v quick 😁) I didn't have fond memories of it (it was relentless), but looking back at some of the photos it appears it was better than i remembered! 20190611_12122...

Re: what have you done to your bike today??

As i'm somewhat displaced at the mo (tools in storage, bike at girlfriends and i'm living elsewhere, all 3 locations are 60-90 mins apart), i'm having to throw it at the de...

Re: what have you done to your bike today??
And whilst on the subject of tanks, fitted a 2nd hand TT one to my xch last week. Tried to do this one a little differently as my other one doesn't afford much protection to the air intake. This time i cut the front/top plastic cover to the approx profile of the tank so that it sits in front of it, ...

Re: what have you done to your bike today??
Oooh, that's very nice. How much does it hold? Thanks gents. I think it's meant to be about 26 litres, which should be enough for a good day out 😁 I took the opportunity to change the rear shock spring at the same time to one from a g450x (stiffer) which should help with the additional load (though...
