Hi Ben, a more economical bike would make a big difference, I reckon £800 of that was fuel. Plus the costs of traveling via Rotterdam added a lot. If I did it again I'd try and book the freight ferry out of Immingham, that would shave a lot off the time & cost, although of course you'd miss seei...

Hi Austin, yes most places were around £20 a tent pitch or £30 - £40 for a hut. The hut sizes varied quite a bit, from a very cramped two beds to more usually four beds in a twin bunk arrangement. Bedding was just a mattress and pillow, never any covers so I just chucked my sleeping bag on top. They...

Thanks everyone for the feedback @qcnr - cheers for the offer, may well take you up on it! @mosel - I gather I was very lucky with such a day in Bergen, had plenty of soggy days elsewhere to make up though! @spike - Not sure I'd go all the way to Nordkapp again but I'd go love to go back and explore...

There's a lot of research being done in supercapacitors at the moment, and if they can bring it to market at the right price it should be a game changer. If it comes good you'll be able to recharge a car in the same time as it takes to fill up with petrol and have a 400 mile range. Quite how we gene...
