Re: Good road bad road

We're in the Eden Valley and while the main roads aren't too bad some of the minor roads are getting to be gravel tracks. There's one bit just near me that has nearly a foot of gravel on one corner. Cars are scraping it all the time.

Re: V5 VIN Doesn't match :-(

How far wrong is it? Just one digit like a G instead of a 6 or something like that? Or is it completely different. Over the years I've had 2 vins not match the bike but in both cases they were easily explained as they were hard to read and only one digit mistaken for another similar looking one. VIN...

Re: Wood burning stove advice (?)

Morso Squirrel in our front room, it's lit all the time, been lit and heating the house for 2 months without going out but I'm burning coal. Front room is very warm all the time and the heat goes into the rest of the house as background heat. Uses about 1 scuttle full of coal a day, maybe a little l...

Re: Route Advice - Amsterdam to Switzerland

I've done the other way and came through the Black Forest in south Germany, lovely roads but I don't know off hand of a good route as we used the Autobahns cos we needed to get back.

Re: diy welding?

Brazing (bronze welding) is good for making frames etc as you can get a good fillet, however to be any good at it you have to prep the joint properly, immaculately clean, be good at it, oxyacetylene set, and have the correct grade of rods. Gas flux-er is good as well. In other words it's more work a...

Logbook loan?
Some of them don't show on HPI checks as there is no legislation to make the lender put it on the HPI list

Re: KTM 690 ongoing issue

If you've tried the crank position sensor (which is a very common cause of this type of fault) can he borrow another ECU? Will the bike tick over all day without the problem? Try another or new battery, the regulator relies on the battery being in good condition to supply the correct voltage on most...

Re: Michael Schumacher skiing crash: did helmet camera cause head injuries?

Other than to capture the cause of an accident, I don't see the point in videoing your ride anyway. I find watching videos of other peoples uneventful riding incredibly boring and some of the music people put over the top of it is awful. If I want to see my own rides back over again I'll go ride th...
