Re: XT600E Fuel Injection Conversion, Polite enquiry

There's a lot to modern injection systems, which usually incorporate the rest of the engine management too (ignition etc). I'd think the only way you could do this would be to cannibalise a later fuel-injected model, but even then it would be very complicated, and difficult to get to run correctly. ...

Re: always wear full gear.

Well, I wear all the gear whenever I go out on the bike. I've once had to test the gear, and it did exactly what it was supposed to: a sudden tyre deflation on the M4 at about 65mph. The textile kit was decidedly 2nd-hand afterwards, but I emerged unscathed.
So I'm happy with textiles, or leather.

Re: 40mph speed limit for 'country roads' now?

Have any of you actually downloaded and read the DFT guidance PDF? If you do perhaps you'd be a little less "daily mail" about the whole thing and relax a little ;) It's more fun to get hot under the collar, unencumbered by the facts! B) But If MotoAl read it in the terribly Blue Torygraph...

Re: 40mph speed limit for 'country roads' now?

The "rural" road shown on the BBCs header picture looks more like a bomb-site ...and too many have deteriorated to that sort of condition: 40 mph may be too fast for that sort of surface. Perhaps it's a government whizzo scheme to avoid having to pay for road maintenance !

Re: new helmet for my bike

But remember that the most important thing is fit...... if you haven't tried a particular helmet on before ordering on line, you MUST be sure that the online firm will take the helmet back if it doesn't fit properly. All helmets are costly and you don't want to be left with an ill-fitting helmet tha...

Re: Curry-Aid

Good luck with Curry Aid. And I hope a swift recovery for Jessie
Unfortunately you're too far away to visit for a curry...... perhaps Jessie could prepare a recipe booklet for sale to us in distant parts? (Could be done sitting down, resting the broken foot) Just a thought!

Re: Can I ask a massive favour?

You're doing something that's personally challenging, what's not to like about that? We all have our own demons, and it takes courage to confront them - that's what you're doing, and I salute you for it!

Re: Camera memory 'disaster' - any help appreciated!

There's a lot of software around that might help...some is at
http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/syste ... overy.html
I hasten to add that I've not tried any of it (I've been lucky so far!) and it's Windows, not Mac.
Hope it comes right in the end.
