Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Already looking to book a test ride. The Himalayan would solve a problem for me of too many bikes and a crowded garage as I'd get rid of at least two or three to take this one on. It'd nearly have the fun of the XT225 on trails, nearly the handling and economy of the Freewind, maybe have t...

Re: Triumph Tiger 1200 xca

Absolutely agree with all of the above. I guess I'm an old git who prefers to be able to work on my bikes whenever they need attention hence all four of my bikes are carb'd with no electronic aids whatsoever. When I had my FJ1200, first thing I did was to rip out the ABS ha! The car world scares the...

Re: GET MOT REMINDERS

Excellent stuff, well spotted!

Just a note - you can only register a vehicle if it has a current MOT, my VX800 doesn't yet so didn't go through. Soon to be rectified...

Re: Xmas day ride out

NIce one! Love the Lakes, fantastic roads and great scenery, no matter what the weather.

I only managed to escape for about an hour today on the old XT in the Peak District - very few people about so pretty much had the roads and trails to myself, just the way I like it! ;)

Re: XT Weather

Like Steve says, it's great when you're out in fresh snow. The day the photo was taken it was very slippery and to be honest, any of the 4x4s would have no trouble out maneuvering the ol' XT. Going up slight inclines had to be taken with absolute minimal power cos it would just spin and fish tail a ...

Re: Winter Biker?

Ruined many a decent bike riding on salty winter roads, what's our obsession with salt ffs? Dispatch riding was a year round thing and having done that for about 8 years and freezing my balls off, I did wonder if I'd end up having knee trouble cos of frozen joints on long runs but so far so good. Do...
