Re: Finance's on your travels
As it is pre-paid you might have the issues with petrol pumps and deposit holds on your card as described previously but as it is so cheap to get cash out the wall I just pay for petrol in cash and use a credit card for security deposits etc.

Re: Finance's on your travels
I've been using Monzo (https://monzo.com/) for over a year now as my day-to-day card (it's a pre-paid Mastercard) and most of my friends and family now have one too, some only for their utility abroad. It's the best way to spend/get cash out abroad as a) there are no transaction fees and b) Monzo of...

Re: Puncture Repair Kits
I just got the DynaPlug Pro aluminium. All the different versions are a bit confusing. As a motorcyclist I think you want a 'pro' version, and whether you go plastic or whatever variations of metal they have shouldn't matter. AFAIK the cheaper variants don't have all the bits and the 'extreme' ones ...

Fatal flaw by the looks: https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/news/2017/july/bmw-r1200gs-and-gsa-fork-safety-recall I guess it's a good thing for me they've acknowledged the issue and are providing a fix before I embark upon the trans-pyrenees in September. Still, makes me more and m...

Re: GORETEX STAND BY THEIR CLAIM.
This is timely. I just got back from off road skills in Wales where it has been heavy rain all day. My Heine Gericke GoreTex jacket that has been absolutely perfect for nearly 10 years let me down big time today. The so-called waterproof pocket apparently wasn't up to the task. At lunchtime I checke...

Re: Bank Holiday weekend BMW GS Trophy
I was there at the weekend and what a weekend it was. Good to finally get the bike dirty on the off road sections. Unfortunately I'm a terrible photographer so don't have any either. Hopefully some of the guys I met down there did a better job.

I found that thread about 15 minutes ago and was just coming to post here to say I'd seen it. Can't wait till September now. Was originally thinking of spending some time in Barcelona maybe do a Spanish course but I think a changes of plans to include Bardenas Reales is in order now.
