Iceland Sprengisandur Route opening
I've managed to persuade my teenage kids to come with me on a bit of an Icelandic trip this year and rented an F road 4x4 (I know that makes this whole post invalid as it's not a bike, but be kind). If I could pile the both of them on my bike I'd give it a go! The guidebook says the Sprengidandur ro...

A lot of people do this with the Pegaso fitted with the 660 Minarelli engine as fitted to the the XTZ660 and many more. It doesn't really appear to have any detrimental side effects to the bike, as already said, it just stops the popping on de-acceleration. Never noticed any problems or additional h...

Re: Travel Insurance
I've used a few of these types of insurance and they are getting more and more user friendly, all done on-line last one I used was this one I think which was easy to do even with a string of medical conditions which would put off most insurers. Use it as your main holiday insurance as it will cover a...

Just brilliant on a thread like this and nobody has mentioned the bike you ride when you were expecting it in the first few posts! Go my bike (Breakdown Betty)!

Re: GPX files of trails in Morocco
I did 4 weeks in Maroc a few years ago and was well impressed by the Open Source Map i used. Pistes do vary from week to week, and new bridges are put in or washed away so you just have to be a little freer and easier. it was really accurate in cities too. almost more useful there than on the trail!...

Re: GPX files of trails in Morocco
On the Maroc trails... 2 years ago I found the OSM maps to be quite adequate. plenty of times you will be 4-5 km off the shown route, however, this is not down to inaccuracies. best routes change weekly due to water, wind and passing traffic. It won't be like trying to find No.1 Belgravia, W1 London...
