From bitter experience:- 1. If she gets wet through and cold you're going to have one of those "Never again..." conversations. (That isn't really a conversation) 2. She must be happy with the way the gear LOOKS! ("I don't care that I'm streaming wet, there is no way I'm going into tha...

Day 2, Langres to Oulx through the Frejus tunnel Day 3 Oulx to somewhere in Tuscany via Genoa and the coast. Cant remember the name of the place. Day ...
Laphroiag

Re: Smiles in foreign places...
We've been to Sri Lanka three times (twice touring on rented bikes). Loved it, loved the people. "How can we help you?" seemed to be the mantra, mostly without a financial sting in the tail. Same in Kerala. We don't avoid other Brits/Europeans. Nod and smile as appropriate, but not despera...

Re: smugglers trail spain

At the moment we're pushing through the intricacies involved with buying a house in Crete. In between the e-mails, trips to the bank etc I'm mulling over which form of 2-wheeled transport will be best and what's available. So many trails in the mountains around 'our' village.
