Re: Use Harpic to clean exhaust

My 690 header before (broken) and after (welded) harpic max 10 treatment. Pretty much effortless considering the state of it.

Re: TT 2019 practice week and trails

Brilliant , looks like you had a great time. Squaring up that rad was a feat in itself :D It just twisted back square by hand. That’s Bmw quality for you. The plastic end tank was just held on with alloy tabs, so they were opened up, the end tank put back into place and tabs squeezed tight....

TT 2019 practice week and trails

Sorry, can’t get the videos to embed. I’ve been over a few times for trail riding but never for the racing. We always stay at the same bunk house over near Peel. Perfect for us as wet and muddy doesn’t matter at the end of the day. I cant imagine going to a B&B in the state we’re usually in. htt...

Re: CRF450L Mixed Feelings.

Just had the DID rear rim flat spot, not done anything dramatic only done 1250 miles , and the spokes come loose , disappointing and Im now going to be riding heart in mouth worrying about the rear wheel, it would appear that the wheel had been poorly built. The DID rims on my 690 we’re like 50p pi...

Re: ktm690 enduro

I use a 690 for laning, getting there and the odd race. Like anything that’s an all rounder, its not going to be as good as your f8 on the road, or as good as your 450 off. The 690 will certainly do the road miles and mine goes over to the Isle of Man every year. Engine wise the new 690 is as bomb p...

Re: The right to repair

Electric cars seem to be the future but not Tesla. The VW chief recently vowed to make a Tesla beating car at half the cost. I’m pretty sure with their economies of scale, that will happen. Let’s hope VW don’t try to close the system and allow third party (or owner) repairs. The wife got an S3 in th...

Re: The right to repair

Try getting a Tesla repaired anywhere other than Tesla. There are now a very few places (worldwide) that can help with repairs but at the potential wrath of Tesla then no longer supporting the car, even if in warranty. Until recently, they would not supply anyone with any spares. Meaning out of warr...

Re: TT Isle of Man 2019

5 of us going Saturday to Thursday practice week. Done lots of laning over there but never been to the TT. Mate of a mate is spannering for one of the riders and told me the corner between Creg Ny Bar and Hilberry is brilliant to spectate from. Looks like it’s only accessible inside the course though.
