Re: EDC On/Off Road, Jaca,Arguis,Huesca (Aragon) Spain: Free trails to download.

Thanks for the detailed write up, advice and reference data. It looks incredible. I'll be including these routes on my Spanish trans-Pyrenees trip this September. Those zig-zag climbs sound like they'd be pretty challenging on the GS. Do you have any advice on wild camping in the region? I know the ...

Re: Spruce up spoked wheels

You've paid for it now, just chuck a tyre on it and try it, sometimes it's easy to get to picky about stuff.
I took your advice and stuck them on. They ride fine or at least I can't feel any wobbles etc coming through the bars.

Cheers

Now to get some 50/50 tyres on. Karoo 3 or Anakee Wild.. :S

Re: ABC North Yorks Meet 18th/19th August

Not sure I'm going to get a pass for that weekend now so I'll cede my reservation. Might still be able to make it and camp, will know closer to the time.

Re: Spruce up spoked wheels

Ok I've got myself a wheel balancer and a dial gauge with the aim of seeing how out of true they are. At this point I probably should have stuck them back on eBay rather than putting more money into an already deep hole but hey, it's fairly interesting and I'm learning something at least. This is al...

It's called Garmin Link. I have it for the V. It's reasonably useful.

Re: Spruce up spoked wheels

Appreciate all the advice. Does Paul have a website/email/phone number? I did a cursory search on the internet but couldn't find much. I think my POA is to tighten the two loose spokes myself then stick them on the bike and see if there are any noticeable issues. If there are then I'll give Paul Jac...

Re: Spruce up spoked wheels

Yeah, I'm leaning toward that line of thinking to be fair Cone. I've got a nice shiny pair of cast wheels to be clean when on tarmac.

So slightly bashed and mucky wheels will be fine but loose spokes and a potentially wobbly wheel is a little more concerning!

Re: Spruce up spoked wheels

So I got some really helpful advice from Eddie at Hagon Wheels, who were recommended by a Horizons Unlimited article on maintaining these wheels. For the standard non-anodized wheels I should be able to get them ground and polished by any willing car alloy wheel repairer. However, after discovering ...

Re: Is there such a thing as a perfect adventure tyre

I'm leaning towards the wilds for my trip to Spain in September. The assumption is the trails will be relatively dry and I'll try and steer clear of anything too technical or muddy. Apparently the wilds have reasonably good longevity on the road so hopefully they won't be worn out by the time I get ...
