Such trips can be done respectfully. I was in the region in 2015; Mostar was heaving, mainly because of the notoriety of the bridge during the war, in Sarajevo there is a tunnel museum where I learned how the city got round a year long siege.

Re: BMW G650 X Challenge
I'm tall. 6'4" Any bike is small for me. My long legs have got me out of plenty of scrapes - I use them like ski poles in the mud.
KTM Chris has an XChallenge and he's a wee fella B)

Re: Starting to Hire bikes out, what should we have??
Gaz, I've been meaning to call all week, I need new tyres on the f800, maybe chain and sprocket as well. Would the 1200 be the loan bike next week? I'd happily stick some miles on it for a few days

Re: Base Layers
Another one for merino wool. Decathlon do some very well priced kit, I've got loads of t-shirts and long sleeved t-shirts that I wear all year round.

Dr Martens. Wore mine everyday for two months en route to the Himalayas, also wear them everyday in the summer for my commute to work.
The 'for life' versions are great value - they will replace soles and uppers forever, a bit like Trigger's broom.

Re: B&B / guesthouse Lake Constance
I passed through in 2015, stayed in Fussen about an hour from Bregenz, it is the town where they filmed scenes for the great escape - including Steve McQueen's bike escape... Stayed in an apartment I found on booking.com that was owned by a biker, pure luck. Details here https://faroffplaces.net/201...

Re: F800 GS "Head Shake"
Mine does the same when it goes above 110. Always assumed it was down to tyre choice and rear suspension. To be honest, I've solved it by staying below 110 (thumbs)
