Re: ENGINE OIL...????
An oil thread, fantastic, now the forum really has come of age    . Sorry, :( less sarcasm and a bit more help - if I have any knowledge that will help. I had this very discussion with the guy that runs this business - Classic oils about a week ago. According to him there is a c...

Re: i pod nano
Do you mean how long will the battery last before you need a new one rather than how long will a charge last before it goes flat? My kids have had about half a dozen of them (or it seems like it anyway) and I've had the job of replacing the batteries in two of them (and a full size ipod). All of the...

Re: I have had a day farkling!
Looks as good as any I have seen - Great job Paul Just a thought - Would button head screws work instead of the bolts and remove an edge that might catch? Agreed, very impressive and I particularly like the slots for the straps. Maybe an upgrade to the "special equipment" version at some ...

Re: What else can i do with a WR 450f
I sold my WR450 because I always felt like I was playing Russian roulette with the engine. The owners manual said 1hour oil change and the shop I got it from said 2-3 but wouldn't put it in writing. 100 mile (at best!) oil change intervals :woohoo: What does it do to the oil that it's "worn ou...

At least it proves the oil pump works  Could have been worse, you could have forgotten to put the sump plug back in and gone off down the road, as happened to me years ago. Except this was at a dealers  Ran it for several miles without oil but after refilling (and a new sump plug) it wa...

Re: Hard Cases or Soft Luggage?
I don't think there's an answer to it tbh. I've swapped from one to the other so many times over the decades I've almost forgotten what I'm supposed to be using on which bike. I started with soft as it was cheaper and it was all I could afford, then went hard with Craven stuff (in the 70's), then ba...

Re: Overland and Adventure........................
Based on other posts probably about half the forum went. I've been before and it was exactly what I thought it would be - a pleasant day where I met a few people from here, a few other people at random and got some inspiration both from the people I met and the bikes I saw. Spent a bit of money, enj...

Re: What book would you take on an overland trip
I recommend "the life of PI". A book that defies genre and has a real twist at the end. probably the most memorable book I have read and I am a kindle owner so have read alot of books. p.sp +1 for the 3G kindle mobile library, e-mail and basic web functions all with free internet access w...

Thanks for that Al. Pity I don't speak German but I'll go through it later with the help of Mr Google. I've got pictures from some of the older ones in the gallery and I'll have to see if I cam post them up there.

Re: the old elephant treffan
Yeah, I remember the shooting incident and the other stuff like holding drag races in the beer tent so I wasn't that surprised when it got the chop at the Nurburgring. I just didn't know a mini version had gone back there. I only knew that the main rally moved to Salzburg and then to Passau.
