Re: Have we got a WTF topic already?

I spotted several trailers of this size in Cambodia being towed by Honda CG125s. They had no brakes and the bike's rear suspension had been beefed up by putting a bar about 10" long on the shock mounts and two shocks put on both sides. The rear sprocket was huge. I am guessing that it would be ...

Re: new BMNW unscripted ad

new BMNW unscripted ad

Has anybody else seen the new BMW "unscripted" ad? There are 1 or 2 people in it you might recognise.

Re: Down Sleeping Bags Which one?

If its toasty at -5, is it too hot at say +5? Not if you use it as a throw over rather than a sleeping bag. In Nepal I'd start off sleeping on my Rab in the hot humid lowlands, use it as a throw as we hit the hills, slip inside it wearing my undies when the hills became mountains and then batten do...

Re: Down Sleeping Bags Which one?

I have seen two figures for my Rab Atlas, -10 and -15, I have slept at -5 in it with just my undies on and was toasty warm. It is rated at 3 season and is much warmer than the 4 season hollow fibre one it replaced which would suggest that Rab's figures are better than others.

Re: Lay ya bike up for winter?

At the end of November the Triumph will be joining a mate's Triumph in my spare bedroom, yes I live alone in a bungalow. The GS will probably spend the winter in the garage, but might find its way into the dining room and the G/S will be on the road all winter. First frost of the year today, beautif...

Re: what makes a good adventure bike.

Something like this then, the Jesse luggage must have cost more than the bike, not sure about the Winchester though.

Re: This how they ride in India ;)

Don't forget the pecking order Ramesh, might is right and if something is coming towards you on your side of the road and is bigger, you get out of the way. Although motorcycles are usually above bicycles and below rickshaws I found a fully loaded GS could hold its own with the latter in the battle ...

Re: what makes a good adventure bike.

I know that this is a bit of a vague answer but in my opinion the best bike for an adventure is the one that you will most enjoy making the trip on. The bikes that have visited most countries are Peter and Kay Forward's Harley electra Glide and the Goldwing of Emilio Scotto, not the usual suspects b...
