Re: satnav is dead

I had a Navman, but some pondlife nicked it out the car. Pondlife smashed the passenger window in broad daylight and took the satnav, ignored the cash in the centre consol and all the CD's. The really stupid thing is that the maps were so out of date that it was almost useless at navigating, however...

Re: Living off the Land

I have also just read this article and don't take this the wrong way because you do have a very valid worthwhile point, BUT, I think the article was aimed more at survival rather than an everyday activity. It's OK, I do get the point; however the only way to get proficient is to practice and you wi...

Living off the Land

Just read the article in issue 8 about catching your own dinner. I know this is not supposed to be a full how to, however it should at least refer to what is and is not legal (in the UK). ALL birds are protected in UK, with only certain species listed under open licences to be controlled or hunted. ...

Re: whats your 4 wheel drive???

Did the landrover thing, broken this, broken that later, I now have a 3.5l LWB Petrol Shogun (1999 vintage). Mainly used for transport for other half and taking the dog to the beach or hills. At less than 20mpg It doesn't go far very often, but unlike the Landy, has never let me down - Oh and the he...

Re: New BMW G650GS

Yikes! looks like this is getting under the skin a bit. My bike had a load more issues than the hot starting, that was why I did not wait for a solution or take a replacement, loss of suspension damping while riding at 70mph was enough to lose my confidence(Zebedee on a bike). I suspect that the hot...

Re: whots the best or worst bike you've owned

Best would be the one that started it all; an old Honda Cub that we used to ride round my Grans field, though with rose tinted spex of course, as it only lasted one summer before it stopped working and became a pile of bits that none of us could put back together, so we bought a Yamaha 80...... Apar...

Re: New BMW G650GS

Hope you all have better luck than me, the G has now gone back to the dealers and I now have an F650 on order as a replacement. More money to spend, but there was no way I was getting back on the G, too many issues. If buying a nearly new G in Central Scotland, beware it may be my old one! BMW final...

Re: New BMW G650GS

I bought one in June, specs looked good, price excellent and initial write up's seemed positive. How wrong could I have been? I have been riding for over 30 years and have never had a bike with so many issues. BMW seem to have provided me with a gearbox with a second neutral, between 4th and 5th, is...
