Re: Solar Panel on top box

Anyone done this to charge small devices? I have a small peli case for which I've made a mount for my S1000. I fancy mounting a small but robust panel on it. I see from ADV rider that a guy's done but it was to trickle charge his bike and his panel is large. I only want to charge a phone and an ipa...

Re: Quite impressed

The screen is OK in direct sunlight, just have to turn up the brightness to counteract it. With respect to OSM maps, I guess it could be loaded onto a micro SD and loaded onto the sat nav, you just have to tell the sat nav where to look for it and it should load. The sat nav itself runs on Windows C...

Re: Quite impressed

Have to say based on GB's review I bit the bullet and bought one of these. It's a brilliant little bit of kit, the mapping is IGo mapping - which I understand can be easily downloaded onto your smartphone, but its mainly the sat nav unit you're paying for. It's ruggedly built, fully waterproof (test...

Re: Semi-Synthetic oil query

type the oil you want into google buy it from the cheapest place? how do you normally buy things? Not exactly the most helpful reply... I would advise to consult your manual and double check the oil you need - it should be 10w/40 Semi Synthetic. Any of the bike oils will be fine, though I personall...

Re: Best wild camp tent?

As far as tarps go I've been using the Vango adventure tarp for a good few years now, its great to stick up as a quick shelter or to use as a porch extension if you're in the same place for a few days. http://www.vango.co.uk/gb/tent-additions/775-adventure-tarp.html Wasn't quite that expensive when...

Re: Best wild camp tent?

Hi Boggs, This is what I currently have, it's good in the sense that it has plenty space for one person for all of my kit and then some, but its a faff to erect and takes too long to do. I'm more thinking along the lines of a tunnel tent that I can pitch the inner and outer together at the end of a ...

Best wild camp tent?

Hi all, Going camping in Scotland within the next week or so, and looking at a smaller tent as my current one is too big and annoying to set up if wild camping. Looking at various tent designs and wondering how people get on with space in two person tents. Personally I like room to store some pannie...

Re: Looks can be deceptive.......

Very good looking bike / setup you have!
Not a fan of exhaust wrap on most bikes but looks very well suited to the W800.
Definitely true though, don't need a certain bike to have an adventure and this has been proven many times. The point is you're getting out there and exploring :)
