Re: Cold Weather tips?
Hey Gary, I have discussed this in the past, a link below. I'm not sure if everyone understands that some of us simply can't generate enough heat and need some assistance! My hands in particular I just can't keep warm even with good gloves and muffs, and my Gerbing heated gloves have been a complete...

Re: A tale of two test-rides
If my 404DS had had 6 wide-spaced gears and an airbox instead of a lawn mower clippings collector, it would still be in my garage! If I hadn't stupidly sold it and got a poorly-assembled collection of parts with a Husqvarna sticker, the DR350S would still be in my garage. I was totally blinded by t...

Re: A tale of two test-rides
The best dual sport bike I owned was my CCM644ds ......... Suzuki air cooled engine, 55bhp, electric start, 14 litre tank, WP suspension, brembo brakes, 140kg weight, enduro and supermoto wheels ........ we've not progressed much in 20 years Yes good call, and if one or a DR650 had turned up in rec...

Re: A tale of two test-rides
Nice one Richard, we will need some more pics :) They are quite unique bikes, I have the 701 of course. For such a capable off-road bike the power on the road is very entertaining though it makes rear tyre choice tricky! Interestingly, despite this being the best proper dual-sport bike the DRZ-400 i...

Re: Which Oxford hot-grips to choose ?
I get cold hands even indoors if the heating is not on! On the bike I tried thicker and thicker gloves, muffs etc, but the only solution was Gerbing heated gloves. Complete game-changer, 4 settings for total control and all-over warmth, even below zero degrees. I also use a heated vest, complete gam...

Harry's Garage
Not posted much lately, so here is one! If you have not discovered Harry's Garage on YouTube then now is a good time. It's mainly cars but there is bike stuff as well, select the tab "Playlists" and then Dakar Bike Collection to get started. Harry's latest video is the CBX 1000 6cylinder, ...

Re: Insurance Shocker!
Sorry to hear that. I'm not that familiar with a bike's value with that kind of mileage, I could argue it would be hard to sell at over 2k? Of course, to replace it you need more as I suspect there are only lower mileage bikes for sale.

Re: Insurance Shocker!
Insurance time again and my renewal came in at £175 for a DR and DRZ. This seemed ok but I decided to check online and see what prices came up. Interesting! Doing separate quotes for each bike the DR popped up at £65 using my full no-claims. You can only use the no-claims on one policy so a second q...

Re: crf250 Rally
Use the one with the lip on the right to lever the tyre back on - stops the lever going in too far and pinching the tube. Maybe you already know that ;) I use four of the same to take off tyres - put all in about a hand width apart then 1-2-3-4 off ! Window cleaner or brush some WD on for lube. Keep...
