Re: 1995 Triumph tiger 900

I had a ride on a mates one once and thought it was great, but too tall for me. The only thing I remember about the earlier Hinckley Triumphs was that is was important to keep the battery charged up as trying to start one with a low battery could bugger up the sprang clutch.

Re: Is Nuclear War inevitable ?

If I remember rightly (from ‘protect and survive’ we are supposed to take all our doors off, prop them up against an indoor wall and cover them with bin bags of soil from the garden to create an indoor shelter. We then need to collect enough food and water to last 28 days. I reckon I can just about ...

Re: chinese are coming

I took my son’s Zontes GT125 in for its first service the other day. It is an excellent bike and a good choice for a learner. The quality looks similar to the latest Japanese offerings and better than the KTM 125s. They had a Zontes 310 Adventure in there, next time I will try and get a test ride on...

Anlas tyres

Hi, has anyone tried Anlas Capra tyres? I am thinking of getting them on my Himalayan. The combination of Brexit and Covid seems to have pushed tyre prices up by about 15% - 25% in the UK and some of the best suppliers no longer deliver here so tyre choices are also a bit limited at the moment. I ha...

Re: Landscape Review

It is probably just ‘guidance’. I think saying that you didn’t realise it was a muddy track and not tarmac will be okay. You can always say you are waiting to see if Sue Gray thinks it is legal to ride it or.not. If you go with a few mates take a bottle of wine or two and have a work meeting, you’ll...

Re: advice wanted please

One of the great things about biking at the moment is that despite the efforts by some companies just to mimic each other’s products there is a variety out there. I have ridden a couple of CRF 250s and they weren’t for me. Too revvy, too tall and carried their weight too high. The Himalayan feels li...

Re: advice wanted please

It is odd most of the modern Enfields seem to be more reliable than other brands and the finish is better too. I have done over 30,000 miles with very few problems on my Himalayan and it has been regularly ridden all year round. It is certainly more reliable and the service from Smalley Cross has be...

Re: Don’t crash in Europe

I don’t know whether you can get this covered on your travel insurance or not. If so the cost of the insurance will rise, as it will due to the lack of the EHIC. This will apply to all travellers but those perceived to be at higher risk, like motorcyclists, will undoubtedly pay more. I am not sure h...
