Re: Covid 19 and non-tax payers
It seems the new scheme to support the self employed is based on profit declared on the 2018-19 tax year, but how many self employed deliberately try to spend as much as possible on new tools and vehicles before the end of the tax year so they don’t show a profit & have to pay tax on said profi...

Re: Covid 19 and non-tax payers
My, non expert, advice to your friend would be to contact the tax office after Coronavirus is all over, explain his situation and ask for a deal. I did this many years ago: after I came back from travelling in my 20s I worked for cash for a while but decided I needed to get back into the system. Th...

Re: But I just want to go out and get muddy :(
Mid wales is a big area , but not a million miles from Sweet lamb is Nant Y moch between Aber and Llangurig. If you go on Bing maps , one of the options is O/S maps so you can search out the little crosses (boats) and dotted routes (UCR's) in the areas around you. Whilst I'm fully aware that everyth...

Re: covid dystopia
My own feeling is that 'self isolation' and 'social distancing' is not the same 'as lock yourself in the spare bedroom' at least as long as you don't actually have symptoms of the virus, but just want to keep out of harms way. If you go for a solo bike ride and stop in a layby with a flask and a but...

Re: Triumph...now all made in Thailand
Back in the day , you had to do a 3 or 4 year apprenticeship to be an engineer. I worked on machines that should have been scrapped decades before I was working on them. Worn out by war work they would wander out of tolerance and needed almost contant adjuastment to turn out a passable product. The ...
Re: Haynes
One of the problems is that the mechanical parts have become much more reliable and the electrical side of things has become nightmarishly complicated. EOBD code reader, yes thank you . Barely scratches the surface. As I discovered with electronics a while ago you can look at a printed circuit board...

OK , I 'm not on Twitter , so I was not aware of those comments personally. However , when I look at the image(s) I see parallel tyre tracks and I don't see knobbly tracks , so I would say that their observations are not accurate, and cannot be justified.
