When there is nothing you can do to stop your bike from dropping in front of other bikers.
When a car pulls out of a side road right in front of you.
When someone is driving right up your arse on a motorway and there is no way out.

Re: Plans for 2018
Nothing as exciting as some. We are renting a mobile home at the edge of the Vercors for a week to explore that area and the Barronies. We took our caravan there this year and for the first time ever we are going to the same area two years running! It is just superb. A nice gentle ride to and from Z...

Re: Motorcycle Live
I haven't been to either for a few years. I live on the Wirral and the journey via the M6 car park is the pits. I'm just not prepared to do it. I agree about the different car parking arrangements. I assume the caravan show organisers pay for block booking of the car parks - they have a section set ...
Re: Payage
I’ve just got one of these bip and go badges for the telepeage which works really well. Most peages you don’t even need to stop, no fiddling with gloves and cards and the badge is registered on your bank account (works with a UK account if you wish). Used one in the car where its stuck to the insid...

Re: European breakdown cover
ADAC. Worldwide cover (use AA in the UK) for me and she whatever we are riding/driving or towing (we sometimes take our caravan to France, sometimes go on the bike.) They repatriate bike, air ambulance back to the UK if sick or injured, hotels etc. 109 euros a year for us both. Bargain! Only downsid...

AirBnB
I'm not especially bothered about "biker friendly" as long as there is somewhere to keep the bike at the property. Have used small family run hotels, city centre chains, edge of town chains, and B&Bs all in an attempt to keep costs low. Have never used AirBnB. Has anyone here? What are...

Re: Travel and other road users behaviour
On the Rotterdam ring road heading back to Europort. I was in the outside lane of a very full motorway. On the Varadero with panniers, so it was quite wide. An Audi overtook me by squeezing between me and the central barrier. A brown trouser moment.
Not sure if this is a Dutch thing or an Audi thing.

Re: Unexpected stuff you come across whilst riding your bike......
Our most unexpected thing was when we (wife and I) stopped for food in Germany. We had stocked up with bread and sausage etc that morning. We saw a sign to a lake, so carried our food etc along the path. Turned a corner and got met with the sight of a couple of dozen Germans sunbathing totally stark...
