Re: TOP BOX PRACTICALITY

I have a SHAD top box that I chose for 3 main reasons. 1: holds 1 full face lid or 2 open face lids, so big enough without being too huge. 2: flat top and attachment points to strap down excess luggage if required 3: Locks to the bike or shut but can also be opened and closed without leaving the key...

Re: Tales from the National Parks - LAST NIGHTS BBC 4

Why do they keep calling us "Off-roaders"? We only want to ride on what are legal roads on road legal vehicles! It's a very biased portrayal with no mention of the amount of footpaths, bridleways and restricted byways that are only available to non-motorised travel. I can't believe the bli...

Re: Advice on an open face helmet (?)

I have a Caberg Hyper X helmet that comes with a removable chinbar and a full visor or you can use it as an open face. I love it and never bother with the chinbar. Its really light and comfy, the internal dark visor is great in the sun.

Re: I am thinking about buying a caravan!

I thought a fair few sites did not allow "vans" as they use it as a way of avoiding a racism row if stating "no pikeys allowed" on their signs. Those comments about not being let on some sites because of the caravan you're towing, twin or single axle or even make of 'van, is bul...

Re: Watch Countryfile tonight 6.30 BBC 2

A good, positive argument by the legal green laners, and a hypocritical rant by the NIMBY. The only thing that annoyed me was that they kept referring to the "thousands of miles" of green lanes for us to share with walkers and horse-riders, but don't mention that there are tens of thousand...

Re: Make hay while the sun shines.

Had a very productive day replacing the roof of the shed so that trail bike can live at house rather than all alone in a block of garages. Unfortunately didn't notice just how sunny it was, so burnt head and builders-crack really not encouraging helmet and twat suit no matter how nice it is tommorow...

Re: Powering gadgets

I've got a 12V socket that I wired into my top box that plugs into a powerlet accessory socket on the rear of my bike. I use this to charge portable gadjets like macbook, tablet, cameras etc. Its only live when bike running so no danger of draining battery and power draw of USB charging is so low a ...

Re: Group Riding -

I once wenton a rideout organised by a Belgian motorcycle club that was essentially a breadcrumb trail. Someone very diligently had put signs at EVERY junction along a 200km backroad route and straight aheads along the longer sections. I don't know how long it took them to set it up, it used ...

Re: Buying a motorbike in France.

Brenhden, if you do spot good one in the next month, i'm working/skiing in the Alps. Have room in the back of my van for another bike if you want it picking up. B) Gotta transit most of France to get to Calais anyway so not bothered about diverting. I live in Folkestone, Kent though so quite a diver...
