I use a Zumo with Basecamp...It's not that user friendly...Basically, you have maps stored on your sat nav & maps stored on your computer (Possibly) When you update the maps on your sat nav using Garmin Express, there is an option under "Advanced" to also save a copy of the maps on you...

Garmin all the way.....Use Basecamp to plan routes.....view road surfaces on Google Earth....So handy.
