Clearly, it's not important at all...but I did say 'just a bit of fun'... :whistle:.
And in terms of fastest, I meant when the bikes were being ridden, not taking into account the fuel and stress stops etc. etc. but when they were being ridden!

Well, we were still all impressed with the overall ability of the GS's (thumbs). I'll have to have a go on one...

The two guides were on GS's....one is a female.
One of the other GS's was riden by a guy in his 70s.

Yes, the best rider will be the fastest on any bike.
Yes, the riskiest rider will be the fastest on any bike.
But on a 2,000 mile trip with all the riders being fast riders ...then the 4 BMW GS's were consistently the fastest bikes.

As I say, just a bit of a fun topic. But I was surprised B) .

2 x r1200gs with cast wheels
1 x r1200gs Adventure with spoked wheels
1 x r1200gs Adventure with spoked wheels and every conceivable extra

...yep, it was the four 1200GS's. Whether it was a 50 mile dual carriageway blast at 100mph+, or a point and squirt run across the rolling valleys, or a hard accelerating/hard braking climb up the mountain passes, they were consistently the fastest bikes. And none of us were hanging around (thumbs) ...

...the VFR 1200 was certainly fast...but it wasn't consistently the fastest...

...well, over the hairpin mountain passes...yes the Street Triple was quick...but it wasn't consistently the fastest...
