Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Just read the opening message on this topic, I have recently purchased an XR125L and I’m contemplating a long trip. I live in the south east of the uk and plan to take it up to the lakes and maybe on to the ns500. Hoping to be on the road for 3 weeks ( a short trip compared to many!). Should I carr...

Re: Tell me about heated grips...
To get the most out of heated grips you really need muffs, you can wear summer gloves all year round. The reason I prefer them over a heated glove is for those spring / summer days when there's a bit of a chill on your way home. Put em on & you're still good to go. I've got Oxfords on the CCM, t...

Re: Getting up to Scotland
Having done both & also on a 'low powered' motorbike (admittedly a closer London) you can smash it up the motorways in a van, but that in itself is a long long day & I personally need a day off after something like that! A realistic average moving speed for a 125 is 40mph so say 15 riding ho...

Re: Not many bikes about
You won't see many between 10-4, still a fair few on the commute though. The scooter is the delivery king & who rides a motorbike in London for 'fun' , apart from you lol. I'm sure queuing for 2 hrs 3 x a week to fill up has put a few bikes into storage, I'm using the ebike as life is too short ...

Re: Don't get an electric car without watching this...
So you have floods in Europe at the same time as heatwaves, the USA & Australia appear to have non stop fires, but it's pretty normal & it's just a bit of weather.
Electric cars aren't the answer but lets not pretend because it snowed in December, we don't have a massive climate problem

Re: Waterproof jacket
I do have a Rukka jacket but I always wear a waterproof over the top, it also means I've got something to keep me dry off the bike. I don't buy bike specific waterproofs though, just need to make sure any hood (if it has one) either folds away properly or can be removed, I discovered the excitement ...

Re: scotlands hidden GEM
It is stunningly beautiful there, but although those photos could allude to it...no tropical paradise. On a day as glorious as captured by those photos, the sea even with 'train yourself up to it with daily cold showers' is knacker shrinking & the wind gale force. Peaceful though

Re: Ireland - Trail Riding?
I spent a week in Cork a few years back & found just going for a walk eye opening, once you're off the moors everything is fenced, with very little public access. They just don't have the footpath / bridleway / byway networks we are used to here & you're pretty much stuck on the roads; which...

Re: I know I’ll be shot down for this….
Grass roots vs mainstream, I once saw Rage Against The Machine in a student union if were venting about lost youth :D . I couldn't go this year as bike was stolen, but I can imagine the costs putting it on. It's no longer a small marquee tent with a couple of porta loos in a random field, celebritie...
