Agreed!
I must stop trying to use irony on forums, it rarely works.

Yeah, where was he when those 3 year olds were using razor sharp knives. Downright irresponsible, they should have had stainless mesh gloves on, at the very least :)

Re: A Ride Out Goes Horrifically Wrong

Always sad and concerning to read this type of report. The NY police have quite a good guide (I am sure many on here don't need this): http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=7179&p=0 When the weather is nice there seems to be an increase in the number of car drivers who use all...

Re: Trail Punctures - what to do???

Lots of good input, thanks!! Conclusion: Tyreweld = useless Slime = worthwhile if pre-applied Replace tube = needs practice WRT solo riding - yes it's a risk. However when I was young I spent many 100s of hours exploring the NYM (before ramblers took over the country) and although I got into some de...

Re: Death Of The Japanese Trail Bike

take off old mans glasses. what happened is greater market segmentation with purpose build machines and actually listening to _buying_ customers. What happened is: 17 y/o bought a DT/KE/TS 175/250 had loads of fun Then got an RD400, had loads of fun Then moved up through 750 etc 4pot to GSX1100 etc...

Re: Death Of The Japanese Trail Bike

There's also the KLX250, but the PR240 is about the closest thing to what you are on about: http://www.ajpmotos.co.uk/ajp-locator-new.aspx Long way from 35BHP though and not very japanese (except the Honda-ish engine). Must admit that what I really wanted, was a CRF250X with the L motor in it. i.e. ...

Re: Best current Greenlaner?

Totally depends what you want to do and how many green lanes you have access to. Sadly, in the UK, there really are not that many to ride. If there were loads (and I could stomach that horrible orange colour) I would get something like a KTM Freeride 250. Maximum fun comes from minimum weight IMO an...

Re: Trail Punctures - what to do???

The mousse looks interesting but the cons seem to outweigh the pros: http://motocrossactionmag.com/news/mxa-wrench-tech-the-pluses-and-minuses-of-the-bib-mousse Add to this the legal/insurance position + the fact that I don't ride all that often and I think I will stick with pneumatics. Thanks for a...
