Re: Another entry to the cut-price mid-weight soft-road market
the 'fearsome' Kawa 750 two-stroke triple of the 1970s. It wasn't the power that made Kawa triples fearsome... more the lack of brakes and handling to get around that (relatively) fast approaching corner! (and don't forget the excellent grip of 1970's tyres :o ) The engine scared the shit out of mo...

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I believe the GW250 Inazuma and the DL250 are both built in the same factory - Changzhou Haojue Suzuki Motorcycle Co., Ltd. (China). It's a joint concern, set up by Suzuki and Haojue. I'm hoping that Suzuki wouldn't put their name to it if it wasn't decent quality. Many motorcycle manufacturers buil...

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
You can get it with panniers, but I didn't. I don't know how good they are, but I've got some throw overs I will use if I go touring.
I got mine as a cheap end-of- line deal, so it was take it as it is.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Thank you. I know they aren't well thought of as off road bikes, but as a small road bike, that can do a bit of green laning, it's not bad. As standard, it's ridiculously low geared, so I've geared it up a bit, and it's much better now. It's easy to work on too, which is a plus. I'm finding I'm taki...

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Is got a 17.3 L tank, and I'm getting 95 mpg. That gives a theoretical range of around 340 miles.
It's happy to cruise at 70 to 75 if you want to get a move on, but I prefer to potter around gawping at the countryside.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I've recently got a DL250, and so far, i've been filling up at about 280 miles, with a few bars left on the fuel gauge!

Re: Chinese bikes?
I'm assuming that as Suzuki sell the DL250 as their own, they will support it fully, and provide spare parts etc, as they do for all their other bikes. The Inazuma, which the DL250 is based on, has been sold for a number of years, and I've not heard of any problems.

Re: Chinese bikes?
I've just joined the Chinese bike owners club. I got a Suzuki DL250. Its built in China, by a joint venture between Suzuki and a Chinese company. I don't know how much input Suzuki had, but it seems OK to me. We'll see after it's been used and abused for a British winter.
