Re: TRF becomming Extinct?

Greetings folks, You folks see only the tip of the iceberg, trust me when I tell you that what floats below the surface would be repulsive to anybody who wants democracy. If you and others wish to bring about change then it is vital that you attend the AGM or that you complete and record a Proxy Vo...

Re: Electric bikes and cars - get real

The lack of internal noise was a big 'plus'. Manufacturers try to eliminate it. But I can see it being a problem to pedestrians? But I really can't understand why there isn't technology available to keep the batteries charged whilst it's in motion? Mine regenerates everytime I am not stamping...

Re: Electric bikes and cars - get real

Interesting post Spud. I had a drive in a Tesla S recently at Swansea Airport, and it was impressive! Amazing acceleration..0-60 in about 4.5sec?! Just a little road noise from the tyres. It was like driving something in a computer game. They definitely are the future. A friend has a Nissan Leaf,and...

Re: Electric bikes and cars - get real

I spend a lot of time travelling and the pollution in many cities is horrific. However I also recently spent a week in London and that seems relatively clean in comparison. I’m not sure how much of that is due to the congestion charge but what I also noticed was the amount of charging points availa...

Re: Important changes at the HISS - Dates for your Diaries!

I've done it! I've just gone and booked my cabin on the Portsmouth / Santander crossing for the HISS Challenge (£35 deposit now and balance by 1st May). Rough plan is to travel down with SHMBO in my VW California with the Montesa4Ride on the back, do the HISS from 19th to 23rd June, then head off on...

Re: Electric bikes and cars - get real

Interesting thread. Is it true though that a lot of insurers won't even insure an electric car, and of those that will, insurance costs are prohibitively high? Not in my experience it's not. I am with Admiral for all my cars and I paid less than £250 fully comp on a £30k (list) Leaf Tekna (which I ...

Re: Portsmouth/Bilboa ferry

I've been looking into this in the last few days with regards to the HISS events. I've done this crossing 3 times before on the big cruise ship and whilst not being a huge lover of boats, found the experience fairly relaxing with a decent cabin, cinema, bars etc. The economy crossing dates worked be...

Re: Healing time

Sorry to hear about this Phil, I have some sympathy as I was in Wales doing some trials training and came off the bike stumbled backwards over some rocks and shoulder barged a tree :pinch: I really ached and I couldn't sleep on that side for 7 weeks. A month ago I had a minor 5MPH front end washout ...

So the TRF has circa 4000 paid up members who are getting peed off with the reduced number of legal rights of way we can use. However it is now recognised that the majority of the massive "bobble" fraternity, prefer to walk on national footpaths or worse still object to cyclists on footpa...
