There is an arguement that totering around on cold tyres and shitty roads all winter does nothing for your skill base. Not sure of the argument either. A lot of people insure their bikes for 6 months, so it's either March or April hence the sudden rush around the 1st of both month's. Used a tank bag for a good decade and never scratched the tank, keep the paint work clean, keep the bottom of the bag clean and use a decent tea towel/cloth between the two. I know have a plastic tank so the bag no longer works cheers Spud
